ITINERARY

7:00 am: One of our representatives will pick you up from your hotel and make our way to the Kilometre 39 of the route Cusco – Urubamba .

Upon our arrival, you will have time to practice how to use a quad bike before the tour begins. We will then start our tour heading towards Huaypo lake, you will have some free time here, and then we will drive 45 minutes until we get to Moray, an archaeological site located approximately 4.5 miles from the town of Maras and 39 miles from Cusco. Its most impressive feature is its system of circular agricultural terraces, which are up to 330 feet deep. Some people believe that the Incas used this place as a type of laboratory to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops of each species.

After this, our next stop will be the Maras Salt Mines which date back to Inca times and definitely impresses with its beauty! The salt mines are composed by thousands of individual salt pools strategically dug into the mountainside, filled with saltwater which eventually evaporates and leave behind the crystallised salt. Members of local communities then carefully take the salt crystals from the surface; a process which has been practised for over 500 years.

During our journey, we will be able to see the town of Maras as well as some amazing scenery and nature which surrounds the area. We will then make our way back to Cusco. We will arrive at approximately 1:00 pm.
