This 2-day tour is perfect for those who would like to experience as much of the Colca Canyon as possible. The Colca Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world, and is the best place to see the Andean condor up close in its natural habitat.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arequipa / Colca Valley
- 07:30 to 08:00 am: Hotel pick up
- Departure: Our private transportation will take you to the Colca Valley. On our way there, we will make stops at a number of important sites:
- The National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas, where we will find fauna and flora of the high Andean area as well as vicunas, alpacas and llamas and a great variety of Andean birds
- The Chucura Crater
- Patapampa which has an altitude of 4800 masl. From there you will be able to observe 8 volcanoes forming a “circle of fire”: Chila, Mismi, Chucura, Huaracante, Ubinas, Misti, Chachani, Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca
- Arrival to Chivay approximately at 13:00
- Lunch at a restaurant in Chivay Town
- Transportation to your great accommodation, the Colca Lodge Spa and Hotsprings.
- Later in the afternoon you will visit the thermal baths “La Calera” (bring your swimsuit)
- Dinner in Chivay
Day 2: Colca Valley
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Our first stop will be the Condor Cross, the best viewpoint to see the depth of the canyon and if we are fortunate enough, to see the magnificent Condors fly by.
- On your way back you will be able to see the pre-Inca hanging tombs. We will also visit the viewpoints of Antahuilque to look at the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma Yanque and their terraces.
- Lunch at a restaurant in Chivay Town
- 13:00: Departure to Arequipa. We will pass by the Chucura crater.
- Arrival back at Arequipa approximately at 16:30
- Transportation to your hotel
- End of service
