Paron lake is a stunning bright blue lake surrounded by spectacular snowcapped peaks. Located in Huaraz at 4200 metres above sea level. It is considered one of the biggest lakes in the Cordillera Blancait and one of the few lakes that are accessible by car. The lake is at the foot of the summits of Huandoy, Artezon Raju, Chacraraju, Aguja and Caraz. All of their snow and ice feed into the crystal water of the lake.

The drive to the lake is through a spectacular canyon with 1000m high granite walls. The drive from Huaraz to the lake is approximately 3 hours long.

ITINERARY

We will pick you up at around 7:30 am from your hotel and drive from Huaraz to Carhuaz town where we will make our first stop for a few minutes to take pictures and see the town.

After this, we will continue our journey towards Paron Lake. The drive itself is impressive because of the high and very steep road. During our journey, we will see amazing scenery, including the spectacular mountains of the region and the Peruvian Andes. We will have a panoramic view of the Cordillera Blanca and the Huscaran mountain.

Upon our arrival at Paron Lake, we will be able to enjoy the stunning scenery as the lake is surrounded by the Garcilaso, Huanydoy Norte, Chacraraju, Pisco and Paria mountains. Here, you will have time to enjoy the views from the viewpoint and a boat ride.

We will be back to Huaraz at around 18:00 pm.
